Objects of Desire

We all like cool fun stuff, be that cars, gadgets, watches, businesses, holidays, money and all manner of uber expensive items and adventure. I’ve decided to dedicate a small amount of my time to pay homage to the many items blue tacked to my ‘Vision Board’ and to share with you “My top 10 Most Desirable Things to Have & Do”

This list is by no means exhaustive as I have a very vivid imagination and like any day dreaming entrepreneur,  I want everything that I can’t afford, and don’t have the time to do! And usually when I can afford it – its replaced by a newer more expensive thing and so my mental hamster wheel spins.

To kick off proceedings with something predictable. What would any list be without a sh1t hot collection of exotic wheelage to shuttle you to and from your various mansions, holiday homes, helipads and places of luxurious leisure. I have a holistic outlook on transport and I simply can’t pick one desirable car, it has to be a garage of vehicles and one that is able to change with my requirements.

It’s my dream garage, highly impractical for the speed bumped roads of sunny Rochdale; but its my dream, and in my dream Rochdale exists on either side of an Autobahn that runs via Nurburgring.

Here is my current dream Garage, in no particular order, as of 8th September 2009 << my birthday.

Buggatti Veyron aka The Bug

Its safe to say that no dream car list would be complete without featuring the Godfather of cars. This mid-engined German beast, is officially the most ridiculously fast production car in the World – o-60 in 2.5 seconds…  A formidable creation by VW named after the French racing driver Pierre Veyron who won the 24 hr Le Mans in 1939, racing for the original Bugatti company. Let’s be straight here, If you own a Veyron, you are officially the Shizznit.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

Most of my friends grew up staring at the same poster, no not a scantily clad lady but an equally sexy vision, that of the Lamborghini Countache and its scissor doors. Times haven’t moved on so much, Lambos are still producing (in my opinion) the most visually stunning cars on the planet. My favorite of the current crop is the Murcielago LP 640, a true supercar named after a famed Spanish fighting bull; that survived 24 sword strikes in an 1879 bullfight. I simply like it because it’s fast, gorgeous, expensive and shiny candy orange.

Mazda RX7

The Mazda is probably the most affordable car on my vision board, but its the one I would most enjoy tinkering with. It has a massive following and much like the Nissan Skyline its considered an icon both in Japan and around the world. Favored as a drift car, the RX7 is a centerpiece on the ‘Japanese tuner’ scene .

I have always wanted a Mazda RX7 from the day my good friend Max almost killed me in his twin turbo version, shattering his front splitter and really busting up the body work as we went in to an unplanned drift across a central reservation.. I fell in love.

More to follow…
